An IT audit is an examination and evaluation of an organization’s IT infrastructure, applications, data use, policies, procedures, and operational processes against recognized standards. The goal of an IT audit is to evaluate if the controls to protect IT assets provide integrity and are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
This course provides an effective approach to auditing an organization’s IT environment and will cover topics that are challenging yet imperative to an IT auditor. These topics are considered by the board and executive management to be critical in achieving the organization’s strategic business objectives, assuring that there is a strong internal control environment to minimize risks and maximize the investment in IT.
