Fire & Gas System Engineering

16 Jan 2023 – 18 Jan 2023

The Overview

Fire and Gas Systems are important tools for safeguarding process plants and production facilities that handle flammable and toxic materials. All such facilities have inherent fire risk that cannot be fully mitigated by preventative instrumented functions, in some cases these facilities require the installation of fire and gas systems to mitigate these hazards.

This training focuses on various fire and gas detectors, such as flame, smoke, heat, gas, and the typical actions taken by fire and gas systems. Latest system architectures: hard-wired, addressable, redundant and others; the integration of fire and gas into overall control systems; regulations and codes. To SIL (assign an IE61508 Safety Integrity Level) or not to SIL will also be discussed in the training.
